Taroudant is a city located 76 kilometers from Agadir in the heart of the Souss plain, surrounded by the Great Atlas and the Anti Atlas, Taroudant is the first capital of the Saâdiens in the 16th century, Taroudant holds an important place in the history of Morocco. The Taroudant ramparts are 7.5 km long, 130 towers and 19 corner bastions, characteristics that make it an impregnable citadel. They have five entrance doors giving access through the cardinal points in the name of Bab al-Kasbah, Bab Zorgan, Bab Targhount, Bab Oulad
Bounouna, and Bab El Khamis.
All these doors are vaulted in the shape of Moorish doors, are dominated by bastioned towers and a walkway.
Taroudant famous for its craftsmanship of leather, wrought iron, wood, painted wood, ceramics, and Berber silver jewelry.
